The careful process of network formation has been developing for years in Ecuador, and now is the time for a crucial step – gathering indigenous Christians from many ethnic groups and communities of Ecuador, so that they can discuss and plan the final actions together.
To have a healthy start to a new network, it’s important to take the time to consider diverse perspectives from different backgrounds and experiences. The coordination committee in Ecuador is organizing a “Pre-Consultation” for July 2025. A culture of mutual respect and understanding will be better fostered if a wide representation of indigenous ethnic groups is present at the planning table. When a broad range of voices is included, the eventual network is more likely to be relevant to a larger demographic and have a higher level of ownership among the Indigenous, impacting more ethnic groups and strengthening more Indigenous churches.
Forming a network of Indigenous leaders in the Amazon and lowlands of Ecuador will advance the reach of the Gospel among unreached people groups & strengthen the Indigenous church and its leadership.
