Collaborative Planning Driven by Indigenous Leadership

Indigenous leaders within the Three Waves Movement have been advocating for themselves, expressing a desire for a tweak in the way large-scale ministry plans are formed. A new rhythm is emerging in 2025, the start of an annual meeting with the purpose of making decisions and strategizing in a more intentional manner. The Indigenous leaders have proposed gathering first without ministry partners to prepare, strengthen their vision, and consolidate their messaging. Then, a joint meeting of the Trans-Amazon Network directors, leaders of the indigenous women’s associations, and the Executive Committee of the Three Waves Movement leadership team will be held as a launching point for each year’s collaborative efforts. They believe this will strengthen collaboration among networks, improve strategic planning, and ultimately strengthen the Indigenous church in the Amazon & lowlands region of South America.

These meetings will involve both men & women and will be held in a different country each year. The first collaborative planning meeting of this new rhythm will take place in March 2025 in Colombia.
