Indigenous Network in Brazil

The Indigenous network in Brazil, known as CONPLEI, is making an impact in many areas of the country. Among other initiatives, they have ministries reaching out to young people, women, and remote people groups that are difficult to access.

The network has been especially focused on Bible translation and leadership development. TIB (Tradutores Indígenas da Bíblia) is a program that trains indigenous translators to translate the Bible into their own languages, to become translators and not only assistants relying on external missionaries or linguists. AMEI (Associação de Mulheres Evangélicas Indígenas) focuses on strengthening Indigenous women as partners in evangelism and community life. CONPLEI Jovem is their ministry aimed at indigenous youth, focusing on character development, theology, and vocational calling.

Indigenous networks are a key component to the Three Waves Movement. They are led by and comprised of Indigenous Christians – the Third Wave. The networks, such as CONPLEI in Brazil, aim to bring full life in Christ to Indigenous people groups of the Amazon and Lowland regions.
